Recently, LifeWorks informed local church communities that the shelves at the Food Pantry have been severely depleted by the growing demand for assistance, and that the Regional Food Bank is currently unable to supply many of the essential items that are needed.

Elizabeth Sterling, soprano, sings with the Schola Cantorum at Bethesda and regularly performs as an actor or pit musician with local theater companies, including Home Made Theater, Schenectady Light Opera Company, and Not So Common Players.

Our appeal in June supports the work of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that helps people build, repair and improve homes and neighborhoods, particularly in urban areas, by working with communities to address their housing needs.

Members of the New York City Ballet Musicians and Friends will perform a fund-raising concert at Bethesda on Thursday 4 June at 6:30 pm. Violinist, Luellen Abdoo and pianist, Christopher Oldfather will perform music of Mozart, Brahms, and Philip Glass. Admission by donation ($30.00 / person or $50.00 for two people).
