As part of our Summer Music Series, on August 24th at the 10am service, we welcome Edda Roemelt, soprano. Born and raised in Glenville, NY, Edda and has always had an immense love of singing. She enjoys performing a wide variety of music, from arias and art songs to contemporary music and show tunes, and most recently appeared on stage at Home Made Theatre in The Sound of Music (Maria alternate/nun). Some of her other favorite roles include A Funny Thing Happened… Forum (Philia) at SLOC, Seussical the Musical (Mrs. Mayor) at BH-BL High School, and the title role in Cinderella. Edda is also a member of Bethesda’s choir. Edda has also performed as a soloist for oratorio works such as Vivaldi’s Gloria and John Rutter’s Requiem, and received first place in the Adult Non-professional Category at the ENY/NATS Art Song Festival in 2019. Off-stage, Edda is a mom to three fun-loving kiddos, and enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also works part-time as a Dietitian and Life Coach in her own private practice where she helps people with their eating and body image concerns.
