After almost a year, the brass eagle lectern and lantern have returned to the church. These items were refurbished by JR Lamb Studios, the same company that installed them in 1887 as a gift from Spencer and Katrina Trask. Besides the cleaning, the lectern had some repairs made including a new wooden bookstop edge and felt covering. Lacquer was applied to protect the finish and allow for simpler cleaning. We are very grateful that we were able to use the wooden lectern, built by Denton Crocker, a faithful member of Bethesda, who died in 2012.
