Opportunities to Serve
Bethesda invites children and young adults to participate in our acolyte program. Being an acolyte offers a unique opportunity to participate more fully in our worship services.
During the school year, acolytes are needed for the 10:00am service every Sunday. For further information, please contact Fr Wallace via the church office: 518.584.5980
Parishioners read appointed lessons as part of the 10:00 Sunday service. Readings are set according to the Episcopal Lectionary and are mailed to the parishioner from the church office one week prior to their reading. Contact the church office 584-5980.
For information on how to become an usher, please leave a message for Tom Moeller through our parish office at (518)584-5980.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
The Lay Eucharistic Visitors is a group of parishioners who assist the Rector in his pastoral care of the sick, shut-in, and bereaved of the parish. The Lay Eucharistic Visitors main purpose is to keep and maintain regular contact with those housebound and hospitalized in the parish. They receive altar flowers as well as visits and telephone calls on a regular schedule.
The Altar Guild serves at the invitation of the rector and assists the clergy by preparing the sanctuary for worship prior to Sunday and weekday services, weddings, funerals and other special services. The Altar Guild is also responsible for the care of the silver and brass, the altar vessels, the linens, the altar hangings and the vestments.
The Altar Guild provides a means of quietly serving God while enjoying the fellowship of other members of our church family. Members serve on a rotating basis according to a flexible schedule. For further information, please call the parish office at (518) 584-5980.
If you are interested in helping with our weekly coffee hour, please leave a message with the church office at (518) 584-5980.
