Dean Marshall J. Vang
Interim Rector

Rector’s Greeting

Extending the Resurrection remains at the heart of the Christian faith and life. You are about to open a doorway to a myriad of ways in and through which Bethesda could bring you closer to the Lord of heaven and earth. Jesus, as recorded in the Gospel of Saint John, welcomed all sorts and conditions of humanity to a pool where a current of refreshing water would both soothe and restore.

It is in this spirit of refreshment and community that we invite you to Bethesda Church. Worship is most important to us. Founded before the official establishment of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany, this parish fostered worship and mission distinguished by its incarnational character. Whether it be before the High Altar on Sunday morning or upon the streets of Saratoga Springs, Jesus’ taking of our humanity upon himself, clothing us with his divinity, serves to define our ministry and purpose.

This house of mercy, the translation from the Greek of the word Bethesda, welcomes you to share our love for Christ and each other. Please enjoy this website. I am certain there is something contained herein that will draw you nearer and nearer to the Author and Giver of Life. Lord, have mercy upon us.

The Very Rev’d Marshall J. Vang, Interim Rector (Retired)
